Rehabbers with birds they have helped over the years.

hawk
Such a shy Red Tailed Hawk.
As soon as those big grippers get fixed
he can go free.

blue jays

Blue Jays practically talk to you.
Especially when they get hungry.
They fly over to you and beg
with a very loud "squaaak".
Here this rehabber reminds
these little Jays that it is
almost supper time.
alvin

This Great Horned Owl is named "Alvin". Some of us name the wild animals
which makes it easier to keep up with who gets what treatment. Over the years we look back
at all the creatures by name and remember their special qualities.
It's hard to see them go sometimes, however, it's very rewarding to know they are
back where they belong.

hootie

Here's Hootie the Barred Owl.
"Look at the mousey."

Great Horned Owl.

"Who left that cage open anyway?"

heron
Having found
a crow at the beach.
a man wondered why the
crow didn't like the seeds and mice
he was feeding it.

Fortunately, this baby
Great Blue Heron was
promptly rescued and
feed the proper diet.
When released he was
about a foot and a half tall
with a wingspan of
approximately two feet.

Moral to the story is...
"Drink Pepsi. It can change a crow into a heron !"

hawk
"Up, up and away !"
"See ya !" says the Red-tailed Hawk

It is a wonderful sad and happy time when the wildlife is returned to their natural habitate!
